Thanks for showing up

Life is for grabbing with both hands and living with big grinning smiles whenever something makes us feel good.  Being present is for expressing guffaws of laughter when they explode out of us, loving with full heart, and intellectually exploring ideas and concepts with the curiosity of a child and the discernment of someone whose job depends upon it.

In happiness there is a lot of facing up to the reality of things, accepting the world as it is, especially our impact on it, whilst also plotting with full imagination for a vision of utopia. It is in seeking beauty in the mundane and the lesson in defeat. It is in finding joy, every day, despite the headlines. Happiness is not a constant state of seeking but of being open to seeing.

Mission

Over the past 20 years, I’ve clocked up around 12,000 hours of teaching and coaching experience. Being a bit of a study geek, I have trained in several schools of acroyoga, yoga, and meditation. Since becoming an entrepreneur in 2010 and founding Nine Lives Yoga, I have collected, experienced, and distilled the most powerful techniques into what I call, The 4 Pillars of Happiness. Having coached over 25,000 clients across 11 countries in every capacity from speaking at conferences and events to diving deeper with one-to-one coaching clients.

One crazy project turned opportunity was taking the Nine Lives Yoga Rave from a tiny East London studio to tour internationally, especially Scandinavia, and watch it grow into a sideline business running yoga parties for groups wanting mindful celebrations. I facilitate team-building workshops and courses in my 4 Pillars of Happiness Method™ and Social Yoga techniques and happy clients include Fortune 500 clients Google and Microsoft, NHS staff, young homeless people with the Clocktower Sanctuary, and for mental health hospital Elysium. I am passionate about social inclusion and creating community and the power of practice to realise the kind of action that brings fulfillment. I am motivated to look mental health in the eye and support people to create truly fulfilling and satisfying lives using the 4 Pillars of Happiness as a barometer for life.

My Story

Happiness is an art accessible to all but only realised by some. I speak as a catalyst for change and share peaceful practices that bond people and the planet with a particular focus on what I call ‘real life yoga’. I’m active, passionate, overflowingly friendly, and buoyant but don’t let that fool you, I’m as sharp as they come. I live in Bristol where I am privileged to train amongst incredible acro humans, live on an eco-village, explore wild nature on my doorstep with my dog, and dance to incredible music regularly. I am fascinated by the study of consciousness and the continued scientific research demonstrating to the modern world the impact of ancient healing practices.

Pivotal parts of me include working in coral conservation, nearly dying in a car accident, discovering I think dyslexically, being a voluptuous yogi and music lover, and discovering in midlife that my struggles with depression were actually the result of undiagnosed ADHD. I am a confident, driven, warmly spoken woman who has turned adversity into opportunity from being severely bullied at school and becoming an advocate for happiness and mental health, to setting up my own business off the back of redundancy and turning it into my dream lifestyle.  My talks are always practical, interactive, and relational and I’d love to hear from you.
